Olly Murs says ‘so horrible’ as he leaves day-old daughter for Leeds gig

Olly Murs has said that ‘it’s so horrible’ as he has been separated from his newborn daughter just hours after announcing her birth.

The star took to social media earlier today and revealed the happy news that he has become a dad. Olly and wife Amelia Tank welcomed the news of their daughter’s birth with an adorable snap of the couple taking her home.

Alongside the picture, Olly wrote: “Our mini Murs have arrived. Madison, we love you so much already.” Just hours after sharing the happy news, Olly is back at work and away from his family home.

The singer is currently on the road supporting Take That on their This Life On Tour and he confirmed that he was going to take to the stage at their Leeds concert on Wednesday night.

Olly posted an update on his Instagram Stories and admitted: “It has been an incredible few days, little Maddison is here. We are very very just over the moon and just full of love. I just wanted to let everyone know that’s coming to the Leeds show tonight for the Take That show, I am here. Yes I am here. It was so horrible to say goodbye to Maddison this morning and Amelia. But the show must go on. I am here tonight. I can’t believe I am a dad.”

Olly and his wife announced in December last year that they were set to be parents just five months after the couple tied the knot. The couple shared the exciting news of Amelia’s pregnancy on Instagram with a photo of him holding an ultrasound picture while his wife proudly displayed her baby bump. Alongside the snap, they wrote: “Baby Murs due 2024.”
