New Partnership To Drive More Homes For Tasmanians

The Albanese Labor Government’s Social Housing Accelerator will help to transform the lives of more Tasmanians with a new development to deliver 15 homes in Hobart.

The $9.2 million project includes more than $7 million in funding from the Albanese Labor Government’s Social Housing Accelerator and will be delivered by Homes Tasmania.

The project has been approved by the Glenorchy City Council with construction set to begin in the coming months following demolition work at the site in Berriedale.

The homes are expected to be complete by 2026.

The Albanese Labor Government has already delivered $50 million to Tasmania through the Social Housing Accelerator.

This will help to build more than 110 new social homes across the state, including the homes in Berriedale.

This is another example of the Albanese Labor Government working with the Tasmanian Government to build more homes for Tasmanians who need them.

This includes a minimum of 1,200 homes for Tasmania through Housing Australia.

Applications recently closed for the first round of funding for social and affordable homes under the $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund and the National Housing Accord.

These commitments are part of the Albanese Labor Government’s broad and ambitious housing reform agenda which includes more than $25 billion in new investments over the next decade.
