Knifeman who stabbed three members of his family before going on the run is jailed

A man who stabbed three members of his family before going on the run is behind bars. Izoel Crudu’s violent rampage began on Dec 21, 2022, when he broke into a residential home in Birmingham and attacked two victims with a knife.

They were both left with slash wounds to their arms and hands. In the early hours of the next morning, the 27-year-old was spotted by another family member on West Bromwich High Street.

A fight broke-out which ended with Crudu stabbing the man three times. He then fled the scene leaving his relation alone and seriously injured on the roadside.

Crudu went on the run for almost a year before being detained in Blackburn in September 2023. He pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on 16 February and on Wednesday (10 April), he was sentenced to eight years and three months in jail.

Detective Constable Gareth Glass from the force’s Public Protection Unit, said: “Crudu went on a violent rampage against his own family causing them to suffer serious injuries. He then went on the run in an attempt to evade police so he didn’t have to face up to what he had done to his own family.
