Kansas City police investigating double shooting on Wabash Avenue

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that sent two people to the hospital. Officers were called to the 320 block of Wabash Avenue around 7:40 a.m. to investigate a shooting with two reported victims.One person was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries. The second individual’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. Police on the scene told KMBC 9 News that a nearby school, Garfield Elementary, was on lockdown for a short time while police worked to sort out the shooting scene.
