Denver Broncos may need to reinvent themselves with this draft class

I highly recommend today’s lead-off article in NFL News below. It provides interesting insights into the development of the modern players coming from college into the NFL landscape.

We’re looking at faster players.

We’re looking at lighter defenders at the edge.

Quarterbacks are taking longer to throw the ball?!

I am more curious about what Sean Payton will be doing with our team as the landscape has been shifting in this direction for a few years now. Will he adapt to what is being presented or will he go to great lengths to find his types of players?

With the Broncos moving on from Russell Wilson, this team is truly resetting and we’ll get to see precisely what Payton wants in a quarterback.

But this goes further than just the quarterback. The team has a lot of needs on defense with little depth across the line and in need of impact pass rushers at edge. Our linebackers look like something out of the early 2000’s. At some point, this team will need to reinvent its defense.

Quarterback will be the talk of the draft next week for the Broncos, but don’t be surprised if the team follows that up with many defensive playmakers that can help move the needle for the youth movement of the Broncos defense.
